26th Ave bounds South Calgary to the North, 14th St to the East, 20th St to the West and 34th Ave to the South and includes the popular Marda Loop business district. Established in 1914 on land annexed by the city in 1907, it was largely undeveloped until the 1950s.

Living in South Calgary gives you all the perks of inner-city living while enjoying a close-knit community feel. It is a mature neighbourhood with large trees and well-established parks and has attracted developers with modern infills, replacing the older original homes. It's only a 10-min drive to the Core (15-min on bike) and a 10-min bike ride to 17th Ave. But with all the community-based events, trendy eats, and recreation options close by, you won't have to stray far.

Enjoy movie nights, farmer's markets, tasting events, and more at the Marda Loop Community Association, located just steps from your door. The Association also maintains an outdoor pool, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, skating rinks, and a community hall for social events and meetings. And while there are several smaller parks throughout the neighbourhood, the largest is South Calgary Park, with soccer fields and baseball diamonds. The South Calgary Outdoor Pool and Giuffre Family Library are in the same area for outdoor recreation options and kid's programs.

Lunch and dinner options close by include local favourites like Our Daily Brett Market & Cafe, Starbucks, and Bell’s Bookstore Cafe. Plus, Marda Loop is only minutes away with endless shopping, restaurant, and amenities, including Belmont Diner, Village Ice Cream, Boogies Burgers, Blush Lane Organic Market, Safeway, WOW Bakery, Shopper’s Drug Mart, and more!

South Calgary is essentially a downtown neighbourhood, so access to the downtown core is an easy bike or quick transit trip away. But when you want to venture around the city or hit the road for an out-of-town adventure, Crowchild Trail is easily accessible to take you to Glenmore Trail, Bow Trail, or 16th Ave.
